Travel to Delhi

Delhi is the capital of India since after shifting from the previous capital of India. “Delhi Hai Dilwalo Ki” – everybody’s verbal term is using throughout India. People from all the over India are reaching Delhi to make their better life. There are many multinational companies can be found in Delhi. Delhi is India's main point of arrival for overseas visitors, and the major transport hub for destinations in the states of Rajasthan, the Punjab, Himachal, Pradesh and Ladakh. Delhi city, the showacse of India, has been the centre of political activity from a long time.

Delhi has many places to see. Some of the good places are as follows:

India Gate:


India Gate is one of the best places to see in Delhi. India Gate was built in the memory of 90,00 soldiers who laid down their lives during world war I. India Gate is 42 m high and is popular relaxation area during the summer evenings. People of Delhi make India Gate popular pinic spot during winter. Also known as the All India War Memorial, India Gate was designed and constructed by Lutyens.

Lal Qila (Red Fort):


One of the best places in Delhi to see is Lal Qila. Lal Qila was built by Mughal Samrat Shahjahan in the 17th century. Lal Quila also called the Red Fort is one of the most important monuments of India. It stands on the bank of river Yamuna. The whole structure is made of Red stone. Shahjahan called it the Uru-Muhalla. Shahjahan shifted his capital from Agra to Delhi and Red Fort was the new capital. Lal Quila stands at the eastern side of Shahjahanabad and the very name of "Lal Quila" comes from the huge wall that encloses the whole structure. The wall is 2.5 km long and the One of the special attraction of the fort is the huge wall that encompasses the whole structure with red stone. The walls have two entrances, one at the delhi gate and the other at the Lahore gate. Lahore Gate is the main entrance point of the fort, leading to Chadni Chowk.

Lotus Temple:


Lotus temple is another place to see in Delhi. Lotus Temple is located in South Delhi, which is also known as 'Bahai House of Worship'. This 20th century wonder made of marble, dolomite, cement and sand is dedicated in December 1986. Lotus Temple represents the Baha'i faith - founded by Baha'ullah, an independent world religion. Lotus Temple is one of the most visited places in Delhi, India. Many people people from abroad are visiting this place daily. The Lotus Temple is in the form of a white half-opened lotus flower. It is estimated the temple has attracted more than 50 million visitors since its inception.

Jama Masjid


Jama Masjid is another place to see in Delhi. So if you are traveling to Delhi then you can’t leave without seeing Jama Masjid. Muslims offer their daily Namaz here. Also visitors from all over the world are coming to see the Jama Masjid. Jama Masjid was designed as the main mosque of Shahjahan. The mosque has three gateways, four towers and two minarets. It was built with alternate use of vertical strips of red sandstone and white marble. The white marble has been used extensively in the three domes and has been inlaid with stripes of black. The main prayer hall on the west is decorated by a series of high cusped arches, which stand on 260 pillars. These pillars support 15 marble domes at various elevations.
